Surface Finishing · Dongguan, China

Bead Blasting Services for Custom Metal Parts

We coordinate bead blasting for CNC-machined aluminum and stainless steel parts, including cosmetic components that need a clean, even matte appearance. Through our manufacturing network in Dongguan, China, we manage machining, surface finishing, optional anodizing, and inspection as one connected project.

For appearance-critical parts, we help define the finish before production starts—agreeing on the blasting media, reference sample, critical surfaces, and inspection expectations rather than relying on a vague “matte finish” note.

Send us your drawings and finish requirements for a project review.

Bead blasted aluminum and stainless steel CNC machined parts with a uniform matte finish

A Consistent Matte Finish, Managed With the Part

Bead blasting directs small media particles at a part’s surface to create a uniform, low-gloss texture. Glass bead blasting is commonly selected for aluminum and stainless steel when the goal is a fine, even matte appearance rather than a visibly coarse or aggressively abraded finish.

We coordinate the finish with the part’s material, geometry, machining marks, and intended appearance. Media size and blasting conditions affect the final texture, so we confirm the desired look against a sample or agreed visual reference where appearance matters.

Fine, Even Texture

Glass bead media produces a low-gloss matte look suited to cosmetic aluminum and stainless steel components.

Reduces Light Marks

A more consistent surface texture can make light, superficial marks less noticeable.

Not a Repair Process

Deep scratches, dents, tool marks, and other defects may remain visible and should be addressed before finishing.

Bead Blasting With CNC Machining and Anodizing

A bead-blasted surface is often used on aluminum parts as a preparation step before anodizing. The blasting creates a matte texture; anodizing adds a conversion layer and can introduce color. Because anodizing changes the appearance of the underlying finish, we recommend approving the complete blasted-and-anodized result—not just the untreated blasted surface.

The final appearance can vary with alloy, machining condition, media, blasting parameters, and anodizing requirements. We coordinate these operations through suitable manufacturing partners and help establish a shared reference for production and inspection.

For stainless steel, bead blasting can provide a uniform matte appearance. Anodizing is generally associated with aluminum rather than stainless steel, so we review the material and requested finish together before recommending a process route.

Step 01

CNC Machining

Milling and turning define geometry, tolerances, and the machined surface condition that blasting will follow.

Step 02

Glass Bead Blasting

Media and blasting conditions are matched to the agreed matte reference on aluminum or stainless steel.

Step 03

Optional Anodizing

For suitable aluminum parts, anodizing adds a conversion layer and color—approved on the fully finished sample.

What We Coordinate

BGCNC works with a core group of 50+ proven manufacturing partners in Dongguan and the Pearl River Delta. We match each project to manufacturing resources based on material, geometry, quality needs, quantity, and lead time.

10

Manufacturing engineers on our team

  • CNC milling and turning before finishing
  • Glass bead blasting coordination for aluminum and stainless steel
  • Anodizing coordination for suitable aluminum parts
  • Masking or process review for critical features, when required
  • Inspection against drawings and agreed appearance references
  • Assembly, packaging, and international logistics support

Our team of 10 manufacturing engineers brings more than 10 years of industry experience. We review how finishing fits into the complete manufacturing plan, including whether the part’s geometry, tolerances, and functional surfaces need special handling.

Control the Details That Affect Appearance

A finish description such as “bead blasted” does not define a single appearance. Media selection, process conditions, material, and the condition of the machined surface all influence the result. To reduce avoidable variation, we clarify the following before production:

Media and Texture

Confirm that glass bead blasting is appropriate for the requested matte appearance and agree on a visual reference.

Surface Consistency

Identify which faces need a consistent cosmetic finish and whether hidden or non-cosmetic areas have different requirements.

Scratches and Machining Marks

Review the part condition and distinguish acceptable texture from defects that require correction before blasting.

Critical Features

Flag threads, fits, sealing surfaces, contact areas, and other features that may need protection or specific inspection.

Batch Appearance

Use an approved sample or defined reference to communicate expectations across parts and repeat orders.

Post-Blast Operations

Confirm whether anodizing or another finishing step follows blasting and evaluate the final appearance after the full process sequence.

We do not treat a finish note as a substitute for an agreed standard. For cosmetic parts, a representative approved sample can align expectations more clearly than text alone. Lighting and viewing conditions also affect how a matte surface appears, so inspection conditions should be agreed when visual consistency is important.

Is Bead Blasting Right for Your Part?

A good fit when you need

  • A uniform matte appearance on CNC aluminum or stainless steel
  • Reduced visibility of minor surface marks through a consistent texture
  • A matte aluminum surface before anodizing
  • A finish applied across multiple custom parts or production batches

Review needed when

  • The part requires a mirror-like polish or a specific directional grain
  • Deep scratches and surface damage must be removed
  • Tight fits, sharp edges, threads, or sealing surfaces could be affected by the finishing process

If your appearance requirement is tied to a product sample, include a photo or physical reference with your RFQ. We can review the finish route and identify questions that should be resolved before production.

One Manufacturing Partner for Multi-Process Parts

Many of our customers source high-mix, low- to medium-volume custom components and need more than a finishing vendor. We provide a single point of coordination for engineering review, supplier matching, production follow-up, quality inspection, and delivery planning.

Instead of separately managing a CNC supplier, a finishing supplier, and a quality contact, you work with one BGCNC team. We coordinate the selected manufacturing partners around the drawing, process sequence, finish expectations, and delivery requirements.

For projects requiring specific quality systems, material traceability, or inspection documentation, we can review suitable partners in our network. Certification availability and scope depend on the manufacturing partner selected for the project.

Request a Bead Blasting Quote

Send us your part drawings and project details. For the most useful review, include:

Material and alloy, if specified
Part quantity and expected repeat volume
Bead blasting requirements or a reference sample
Whether aluminum anodizing follows blasting
Cosmetic surfaces and critical features
Dimensional tolerances and inspection requirements
Target delivery date and destination

We will review the manufacturing route and clarify any finish or inspection details needed to prepare a suitable quotation.
